At our school we use the Investigations program. This is a great program
that allows us to meet the district and state standards.
When necessary, some other materials are used to make sure that students are learning everything required of them !

Reading
|
We do a lot of great things with reading and writing in our classroom.
We have literature studies with different genres of books, we work on phonics,
grammar and language skills.

Writing
|

During Writer's Workshop, we will learn the 6 Traits of Writing and put them into practice as we write stories. We will publish some of our stories into books!
We take the books that we publish home at the end of the year.

Social Studies
|
We learn about the three branches of government.
We learn about the Special Americans that have helped make our country what it is today.
We learn about the state that we live in. Did you know that
Arizona's birthday is on Valentine's Day?

Science
|
We do many fun experiments that help us understand our science curriculum. We also have a science bucket that we take home and together with our families, we choose an experiment to perform for the class as the "Scientist of the Day".

Health
|
We learn how to take care of our bodies through nutrition, excersise and learning.
